Mergon Factory

2016

Mergon celebrates 35 years in business. Mergon Group celebrated the launch of the Mi (Mergon Innovation) Centre at its headquarters in Ireland.

2013

Agreement signed with Seksiui Alveo to develop foam air ducts for the automotive market. Mergon acquires assets of Dutchland Plastics to add capability in large part blow moulding in USA. Mergon awarded TS16949 quality standard in all facilities.

2012

Innova Polymers is developed to offer 100% recycled plastic to customers in certain markets.

2011

Mergon celebrates 30 years of success in business.

2010

Mergon International awarded ISO13485 medical device quality standard.

2009

Tandem injection moulding is employed for the first time. Mergon perfects 7 axis robotic finishing of blow moulded parts for a major automotive project.

2008

Mergon expands into Innova facility in Ireland adding to JIT logistics and R&D capabilities.

2007

Reorganisation of operational structures into Automotive, Healthcare and Industrial to reflect specialisation and to provide a greater level of service to these particular sectors.

2005

Mergon enters into a strategic partnership agreement with a Chinese mold maker and molder consolidating further its global network of operations.

2004

Consolidating its position as one of the world’s leading technical molding companies, Mergon expands by opening a manufacturing facility in Brno in the Czech Republic.

1998

Further expansion takes place with the establishment of Mergon Corporation in Anderson, South Carolina, USA.

1997

Mergon is certified to ISO 14001 the International Environmental standard.

1994

Significant investment in a new facility and new machinery to mould larger plastic parts is made as a second manufacturing facility is opened in Ireland.

1991-1993

Mergon grows steadily, diversifying both its product range and geographical markets.

1990

Mergon establishes a Technology Transfer Agreement with Japanese company Takagi Seiko which was the springboard to developing business with Japanese customers in Europe.

1983-1988

Manufacturing facilities at the Irish plant are expanded as Mergon wins new business with international customers.
Mergon achieves the Quality Standard ISO 9000.

1981

Mergon is established in Ireland in 1981 as a manufacturer of technical plastic moldings. Among the first products supplied are valves for photocopiers.
