Process Technician
Mergon is a world-leader in plastic moulding solutions for some of the world’s best known corporations including Toyota, Abbott and Bosch. The company has over 400 staff and offices in Ireland, the US and continental Europe. Mergon International, Ireland wishes to recruit a Process Technician with experience in Injection Moulding.
The Role
Reporting to the Production Manager, the successful candidate will provide polymer processing and engineering expertise for injection and blow moulding projects. Responsibilities will include:
- Optimising existing and developing new moulding processes
- Troubleshooting and fault finding of process and equipment
- Coordinate maintenance of moulds, specify repair or alteration of moulds and equipment
- Prepare setup of production runs, follow-up on progress of tool, process and automation improvements
- Support the design, implantation and debugging of new system, tooling and automation improvements
- Ensure process control and maintain appropriate documentation
- Assist with the training of technicians/apprentices as required
The Candidate
The successful candidate will have:
- Relevant 3rd level qualification in Engineering to degree level with 3-4 years’ experience in a similar role
- Previous experience with blow moulding machines and familiarity with automation equipment an advantage
- Excellent problem solving skills, strong communicator and team player
- Previous experience in a continuous improvement environment desirable

Technical Sales Manager

The company now wishes to recruit a senior sales professional to drive business growth in Central and Eastern Europe.
The Role
Based in Brno, Czech Republic and reporting to the Group Director Sales & Marketing, the successful applicant will play a key role in the development of company strategy and be responsible for all aspects of business development in Eastern Europe including the following:
- Identification of suitable growth opportunities for the company in both existing and new market sectors
- Development and execution of a business development plan for the company
- Negotiation of terms of business and contracts of supply
- Key Account Management of strategic customers
The Candidate
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity with career growth potential. The position requires a high level of commercial awareness and strategic thinking as well as a good level of understanding of technologies applied and products. Proven leadership, innovation and business management skills as well as a proven track record in custom moulding sales is essential. Previous experience in any of the areas of operations, programme management or engineering within the plastics industry will be advantageous.
You will have at least 10 years experience including senior management appointments and have a degree in a relevant Engineering or Science discipline. Fluency in English is essential.
