Project Management

End-to-end project management

Mergon’s project management process integrates the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) framework. Our objectives are to be accurate in initial project estimation and effective in project tracking and control so that we deliver high quality projects on-time and to budget. Our focus on process and quality is reflected in our certification to ISO 9000, ISO 13485 and ISO 14001.

Having received a Request for Quotation from a customer, a cross-functional team at Mergon evaluates the project and carries out a rigorous technical feasibility review to ensure all aspects of the project are considered and to give early input to the design.

A dedicated project team then designs and specifies the moulds, gauges and finishing equipment and the manufacture of these begins. In parallel, materials are sourced, trialed and approved. Regular project meetings and project planners keep the customer involved and up to date throughout the project management process.

Extensive trialling is carried out both at the mould-makers and on Mergon production equipment to ensure the end product meets the customer’s expectations in terms of design and performance.

Volume production begins at Mergon only after employee training, production trials and quality approval activities have been completed satisfactorily.

Mergon’s project management team is involved from the outset of every project, adding value to every design and seeking ways to reduce costs for the customer’s benefit.
