We constantly change what we do and how we do it to drive competitive advantage for Mergon and our customers. We actively encourage ideas from staff, customers, partners, universities and public agencies and apply them to drive innovation in our products, processes, services and our business model.

At the heart of our innovation management is our corporate research and development (R&D) team who act as a bridge between Mergon and our university and industry collaborators and our customers’ R&D units. In addition our sales and marketing team act as a source of customer and market information that informs our overall innovation priorities.

We work hard to maintain our technical leadership through investment in new technologies and processes and through investment in our people and their skills. Additionally we collaborate with research institutes and universities as well as industry partners and suppliers.

Examples of innovation include energy reduction techniques used in manufacturing, materials innovation that has dramatically reduced weight characteristics for automotive products and the adoption of lean manufacturing processes at all 3 global facilities.
