Castlepollard Enterprise Town

Bank of Ireland’s Enterprise Town initiative seeks to work with local businesses to plan and deliver a range of activities that will support and generate business in each area. The initiative also involves the wider community and schools to ensure everyone can get involved and be part of the positive experience that is an Enterprise Town.

The events in Castlepollard consisted of a Business and Community Expo at Castlepollard Community College on Saturday 2nd April. All local businesses were invited to display their products/service at this event. It was a great opportunity to network among other local businesses that you may not get the chance to do on a day to day basis. The Expo featured special guest speakers such as Gerry Duffy (Motivational Speaker), Mairead McGuinness MEP, Vice President of the European Parliament and Mergon’s General Manger; Aisling Nolan, where she shared the success story of Mergon.
Local schools were also involved, with awards for secondary school students and an art competition for primary schools. Groups and individuals involved in the local music and dance had the opportunity to perform on the day. It was a fantastic event that appealed to everyone. Castlepollard has so much more to offer than what meets the eye and this event was a prime example of that.
