Mergon has been a pioneer in the use of recycled consumer resin in its products for many years.

The desire to be a good corporate citizen merged with the necessity to lower prices to our customers, particularly in the automotive industry, provided Mergon with a challenge.

Mergon met this challenge by founding Innova Polymers. Through collaboration with a local recycling company and Athlone Institute of Technology Mergon developed the Innova IN8002A grade of recycled materials.

The material provides excellent impact resistance and high tensile strength enabling Mergon to register and approve the material on the IMDS system for automotive components.

The material is also being used across a range of products in our industrial division helping our customers meet their sustainability targets and also benefiting from lower cost material.

IN80002A has been approved by a number of automotive OEM’s and is currently in use across a range of vehicles being manufactured in Europe for worldwide sale.
