JLR-Q is an award made to qualifying suppliers who demonstrate that they meet JLR requirements in terms of delivery and quality performance and achieve a high score in an audit called a Manufacturing Site Assessment. JLR expects its suppliers to achieve JLR-Q within 12 months and a supplier who fails to do so is at a disadvantage in competing for new business. Achieving JLR-Q is a very significant step to ensuring a long lasting relationship with JLR.
As a result of all the hard work and effort by all the departments, we are pleased to announce that Mergon International have successfully achieved the JLR-Q Award. John Setchell – Senior STA Manager and Paul Allen – Supplier Improvement Engineer visited Mergon International to present the award on the 6th July 2016. The day went extremely well and it was good to hear the positive comments from both John and Paul.
It was with pleasure to visit Mergon to award the JLRQ Award, this was a significant achievement that provides the foundation for further continuous improvement to the Mergon Manufacturing Process. JLRQ is awarded, as a result of compliance to a Manufacturing Site Assessment and having successful quality and environmental systems, namely TS16949 and ISO14001, finally Production delivery adherence is also assessed.
I was very impressed with the Mergon Manufacturing facilities, with a high degree of 5s in all areas, and high visibility of “Key Performance Indicators”. It was also very impressive to see the total efforts of employee engagement in all aspects of the business. The opening of the fantastic Training facility is testament to the Mergon total team, and I am sure will bring further improvements to the Manufacturing processes, along with further enhancements to employee engagement.
I personally thank all the Mergon Team and continue to seek “Continuous Improvement”
