On Saturday 2nd June 2018, Mergon Corporation celebrated 20 years of business in Anderson, South Carolina. To mark the occasion, a family party was held at the facility, where Mergon Corporation employees along their families, employees from Mergon Group and neighbouring businesses enjoyed the celebration.
Over three hundred people attended the event, which was a huge success and was enjoyed by all. Entertainment was provided to suit all ages: A stilt walking, fire breathing, unicycling, juggler entertained the crowd and there was a children’s entertainment area with a clown balloon shaper, giant versions of connect 4, jenga, and a slot machine with a gift from Mergon for every child attending.
Other entertainment included Irish Dancers from Drakes School of Irish Dancing in Atlanta, who put on a great show and provided some Irish dancing lessons to willing participants. The USA ‘v’ Ireland Friendly International match was shown on big screens and at times veered slightly away from its friendly title!
Music was provided by the band Emerald Empire and there was an array of food stalls to ensure no-one left hungry, including a South Carolina Barbeque, Hot Dog Cart, Brusters Ice Cream truck, Cotton Candy and Popcorn stalls and drink refreshments.
Tours of the facility were provided for those who wished to see inside the doors of Mergon Corporation and speeches were given by Ray Davis, General Manager Mergon Corporation and Pat Beirne, CEO, with Pat stating “There is no more fitting way to celebrate 20 years than with our employees and our families. We look forward to continuing and growing our operations here in South Carolina. Fostering an innovative culture will be the key driver and motivator for ensuring our continued growth.”
The speeches were followed by the cutting of the cake and photographs were taken to capture the memory of a wonderful celebration of the past 20 years and looking to the future development and continued growth of Mergon Corporation.
